Today, Hunter Belle Dairy Co. is a living blend of farm and factory.
A place where Jason and Annie Chesworth milk their beloved Brown Swiss cows, craft award-winning cheeses, and bottle creamy fresh milk for the Hunter Valley and beyond.
What you see on the shelf is just the surface, behind every drop and every bite is a family story more than a century in the making.
Here’s how we got here…

From farm to fromage...
For over 100 years, the Chesworth family has been milking cows along the Hunter River in New South Wales. In 2009, sixth-generation dairy farmer Geoff Chesworth and his wife Tania stepped away from their 400-cow dairy in Denman to explore a new path: cheese. Their son Jason soon joined the adventure, along with his wife Annie, and together the family began turning their passion for dairy into something truly special.
What began as a small family operation has grown into Hunter Belle Dairy Co., still proudly based in the heart of the Hunter Valley. These days, Jason and Annie lead the business - Annie managing operations, and Jason juggling life as both a farmer and company director, often found taking business calls in muddy boots alongside his beloved herd. Geoff and Tania still play a hands-on role, running their retail stores and sharing their knowledge and love for dairy with customers every day.
In 2024, Jason fulfilled a lifelong dream by stepping back into his dairy farming roots. He launched our very own dairy and established a herd of Hunter Belle Brown Swiss cows - continuing the family legacy of milking cows along the Hunter River and bringing the story full circle.

Just down the road from our cheese factory, our Brown Swiss cows - affectionately known as the Belles of the Hunter graze on lush green pastures. This heritage breed is known for its exceptionally protein-rich milk, ideal for cheesemaking, and with low food miles, minimal stress, and a gentle farming approach, the quality speaks for itself.
Family has always been at the heart of Hunter Belle, with the the next generation of Chesworths growing up alongside the cows and the curds. We’re proud of where we’ve come from, excited for what’s ahead, and grateful to share our cheesy journey with you.
